2. PAWS Dog Run

This dog park is popular not only as a good exercise spot for dogs but also as a great place for socialization among the dogs' owners. It is a safe and convenient place for dogs to run free without a leash. There are many chairs in the park's fenced area where dogs' owners can sit, relax and have their own conversation.

3. Robert J. Miller Air Dog Park

Address: 101 Airport Rd, Berkeley, NJ 08721-0000

The Robert J. Miller Air dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs. It also features woods, picnic tables, and drinking water. Children younger than 8 years are not allowed to enter the park. Dogs owners should be able to secure an Ocean County annual permit for their dogs in order to use the park's facilities.

4. Central Bark

Park goers can choose between the two large separated running areas found in the park. The larger area comes with a small pavilion that accommodates two picnic tables, fresh water, gazebo and a sidewalk. The second area is built without any structures or comfort-providing features for people. It is a great space for dogs to run around and make new friends.

5. Burnt Mills Dog Park

This one and a half acre fenced dog park is built with secure entrance and benches.  It has a large playground that's good for children between the ages of 5 and 12. It also has play events and travel routes that are specifically designed for the user with special needs. Park goers can take advantage of the several features found in the area which include a wall for wall climbing, slides, climbers and suspension bridge.

6. River Road Park

The River Road Park is a temporary fenced dog park that is easily accessible from the Hike and Bike trail. You can enter through its main entrance and park your vehicle at the end of the gravel cul-de-sac. Other features include handicap parking, 4 fields for playing baseball or softball; 2 fields for playing soccer;  bird watching and nature trails; and access to the Bedminster Pond and the North Branch of the Raritan River.

7. Echo Lake Dog Park

Address: RT 22, Westfield, NJ

The Echo Lake Dog Park is a 3-acre, fenced off-leash dog park that is open on daylight hours. Managed by the Union County Department of Parks, it is located just off Rt 22 East on the border between Mountainside and Westfield.

10. Donaldson Park

15. Country Haven Kennels and Dog Park

If you’re looking for a full doggy work-out for your pup this is the perfect place. It features an obstacle course, playground, and doggy toys laid over grassy grounds of over half an acre. This is a private dog park but easily accessible for a small fee. The owners take good care of their visitors and the park is well maintained. If your dog doesn’t enjoy socializing so much or is picky, you have the option to rent the park for half-hour sessions as well.

16. Horseshoe Bend Park

Managed and maintained by Kingwood Township and the NJ DEP Division of Parks and Forestry, Horseshoe Bend Park offers a leash free dog area suitable for those who just want to spend the day with their fur babies hassle free. On regular days, the park is visited by an average of 38 dog park users and their human companions.

17. Glenhurst Meadows

If you don't want to go far, Glenhurst Meadows can be one of your options. This 0.8-mile loop offers a great trail for dogs on a leash, however, it is recommended to spray your dogs with tick repellent if you have any.
