Live simple, and simply live. This weekend's learning offering at the Arboretum promises to be another informative and useful topic on herbs and its simplicity. Make it a point to learn more about the benefits of growing food.


2. Free Saturday Tour

The Arboretum is one of the best places to spend the weekend and create new memories with your family. Leave your gadgets at home and take a breather from the fast-paced days we live to relish the joy of life and nature.


3. Mixed Media Illustration with Lizzy Synalovski at the Morris Museum

When: Aug. 4, 11 am
Where: Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown, NJ 07960
Fee: Museum members: $60 per session, Non-members: $70 per session

Ready to get creative this weekend? Head over to the Morris Museum which will take you on a course that emphasizes improvisation and encourage creativity through the use of fabrics, paint and patterned papers. Artists at all levels are welcome to join us as we create new work this summer. Studio art for teens ages 16+. Advanced registration is required.


4. Discover Victorian Morristown

When: Aug. 4, 11 am
Where: Morris County Tourism Bureau, 6 Court Street, Morristown, NJ 07960

Walk around and explore Morristown together with a Victorian expert to learn about Morristown during the Gilded Age period. You can learn about the architecture, clothing, and customs during the time period.


5. Sense and Scent-ability

When: Aug 4, 11 am - 2 pm
Where: Colonial Park Gardens, Parking Lot A, 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset, NJ  08873

Languish in the scents and aromas of nature and join a garden tour of the Colonial Park. Lesley Parness will be leading the walk and lecture whilst giving demonstrations. Attendees will learn to create herbal concoctions and take home instructions and recipes.

6. Meet Alexandra, Last Tsarina of Russia

When: Aug 4, 2 pm - 3 pm
Where: 1 Vogt Dr., Bridgewater, NJ, 08807

The Ladies of History, Historical Productions presents the life of the last Tsarina of Russia and wife to Nicholas II. Delve into the interesting life she led and know more about the royalty of bygone days.

7. Mixed Level - The Bar Method

When: Aug 5, 9:30 am
Where: 51 Mount Bethel Road 210, Warren NJ 07059

Get your circulation back on track and get your cardio on this weekend with the specialized Mixed Level class. Do yourself a solid and pay mind to your health!


8. BEGINNER TRAIL RIDE

When: Aug 5, 10 am – 11 am
Where: Lord Stirling Stable, Basking Ridge
Fee: $28-resident/ $36 non-resident

Budding equestrians and horse-lovers are encouraged to join the guided trail ride at the Stables this weekend. This course is open to beginners.

9. INTRODUCTORY WESTERN HORSEBACK RIDE

When: Aug 5, 1 - 3 pm
Where: Lord Stirling Stable, Basking Ridge

Learn the Western style riding technique on horseback and get yourself familiarized. This is a program aimed to give instruction about the Western riding method.


10. 5th Annual Food Truck Fest Featuring Kinderhook

When: Aug. 5, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Where: Somerset County Park Commission, 189 Old York Rd, Bridgewater, NJ 08807

Come and bring your appetite for some good food and great music! Food trucks will offer a variety of culinary delights while you jam to the music of the popular 70's country rock band Kinderhook!


11. Home Again - A Carol King Tribute

When: Aug 5, 7 pm - 8:30 pm
Where: Somerset County Park Commission, 189 Old York Rd, Bridgewater, NJ 08807

Enjoy listening to soothing music in the celebration of Carole KIng's legend, Home Again, which captures the "Beautiful" Spirit of a unique time in music history. Watch Deb De Lucca and her band as they perform the hit songs Carole King herself, as well as songs she wrote for other artists.
