1. Summit YMCA Holiday Angel Tree

Share your blessings this Xmas and give hope anew to a family this joyous season. Come over to the Summit Y this weekend and pick a card from the Xmas tree. Acquire the gift item stated on the tag and have it back with Member Services no later than the 20th of December and you would have shared some of that warm love.

2. HanukkahPalooza!

It is going to be quite a weekend for families and children of all ages at the HanukkahPalooza! You're in for all sorts of treats and fun with puppet shows, crafting and cooking, and spinning dreidels! Plus! You get to do a good deed of packing a gift kit for homeless families. Now, isn't that quite a treat? Come over and discuss the December Dilemma of navigating through the Xmas and NY season. Bring your candles and menorah and be part of the 180 strong, candle lighting ceremony!

3. Hot Chocolate Hike Weekend 

When: Dec 16, 11 am

Where: The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary 324 Forest Drive South, Short Hills, NJ 07078

It's back for the third time in three years and going strong! The 3rd Annual Hot Chocolate Hike is back and gives you the chance to step back from all the Xmas rush and hubbub. Pay a visit to our woodland friends and share a nice convo about the outdoors.  Participants will get to enjoy a nice moment of sharing with a hot cup of cocoa by the hearth after a good stretch in the woods. Dress warmly!

4. Gift Wrapping Event

When: Dec 16, 2 pm

Where: The United Methodist Church of Summit 17 Kent Place Boulevard, Summit, NJ 07901

This weekend surely holds opportunities to extend a hand to less fortunate community members and people. The teens of the United Methodist Church of Summit have set up a socks and cash drive that will benefit the homeless. Bring your gifts and they wrap them up for you, each gift wrapped in exchange for adult-sized socks, or cash, whichever your heart dictates.

5. The Light of Christmas: A Night of Music

When: Dec 16, 7:30pm

Where:  Renaissance Church, Summit Opera House 2 Kent Place Blvd, Summit, NJ 07901

This year, come and celebrate the traditions of old and rejoice in the advent of Xmas. Don't miss out on a Xmas event of loved tradition. Come over for the Xmas Show and enjoy a great family time of bonding and entertainment. Come 45 minutes before curtain and enjoy some hot chocolate before the show. Theater doors open 30 minutes before curtains.

6. Christmas Concert

When: Dec 17, 3 pm

Where:  The United Methodist Church of Summit 17 Kent Place Boulevard, Summit, NJ 07901

What better way to celebrate the coming of Xmas than with song and music?! The United Methodist Church of Summit invites all this Sunday for a musical journey of worship and gratitude featuring our Adult, Youth and Children's Choirs. Enjoy the melodious sounds of Yuletide in a sacred space of joy and peace.

7. Memoir Writing Workshop

When: Dec 16, 11 am

Where: New Providence Memorial Library 377 Elkwood Avenue, New Providence, NJ 07974

Feed your creativity and draw inspiration this weekend from writing instructor, JoAnn Jackovino. Ms. Jackovino will be instructing and guiding interested participants on the memoir writing process so don't forget to pack your journal, notebook and a couple of pens!

8. Winter Fest in Basking Ridge! A Great Cause.

Where: 22 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge

This weekend is indeed one that will keep on giving, and you can be a part of that and make a real difference in a young person's life. Join the team that is learning with love, and raise awareness on the mission of sending young African girls to and through school! Bring your wallets and checkbooks and give generously. So little will go a long way in making the difference for a young girl. You don't go away empty hearted. Cookies and hot cocoa will be served and the little ones can enjoy fun, games and crafting. Come over!
