Darlene White recently joined our Weiniger Realty brokerage! We are excited to have her a part of our work family. Back in 2011, Darlene was an on-air designer and project manager for season 5 of HGTV’s Real Estate Intervention, where she designed and renovated homes on small budgets. HGTV wanted to merge the boundaries of staging and interior design, and Darlene brought this concept back to her professional practice with a system called ‘Design for Real Estate.’ Because of her savvy home decor and design, many of her staged homes receive offers between 1-30 days of being on the market.
So grab your pen and paper because Darlene is sharing her expertise with us on the current Home Trends.
Paint Those Walls
Greige walls and white trim are still a popular choice and can take years off of a home. Just be sure the greige leans towards a warmer hue. Cool tones will make a home feel cold.
Brass is Back!
Often clients will say, “I heard brass made a comeback.” It has, but the resurgence is actually a brushed brass on modern forms, such as contemporary chandeliers and cabinet pulls. Use sparingly.
White is Classic
White cabinets are always a popular choice. We spray cabinets white very often. Add color to the center island in a warm grey or navy for a pop of color and beautiful contrast.
Black is Beautiful
Consider replacing those gold door handles with black. It will offer a fresh, updated look to a small detail that is often overlooked.
