What makes Warren NJ a great place to live? Unique learning activities like the recent Shark Tank event held at Warren Middle School. Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades used their imaginations to create an idea for a product or service, and then presented their ideas to a panel of judges comprised of local business leaders who asked the students thoughtful questions and gave feedback, just like on the popular TV show, “Shark Tank.” Judith Weiniger and Cathy Cooper of Weiniger Realty in Warren, NJ and Anne Martinelli of Kreations by Anne participated as judges.

Dr. Susan Cooper, head of Warren Middle School’s E2 gifted and talented program, hosted the event. Watchung Hills Regional High School students John Williams and Chloe Tu, motivated by wanting to give back to their community, developed and planned this fun and interesting way for middle school students to use their problem-solving skills. The winners received gift cards to 16 Handles, a local favorite frozen yogurt dessert shop.

First Place - Zoya Balakrishnan (It's in the Bag)
Second Place - Lilla Bellish & Madelyn Feldblum (Magical Fairy Bowling Pin Magic)
Honorable Mentions - Erich Dong, Sawyer Landau, Brian Richmond and Shaan Dave

“I was impressed by the students’ enthusiasm for their ideas, and the poise they displayed while delivering their presentations,” said NJ real estate agent and broker Judy Weiniger. “This is just another example of how the exceptional schools in Warren Township, NJ do a great job of preparing and encouraging students beyond the standard classroom curriculum.”
