Thanksgiving is here, and we're pretty sure you're wondering what to do over the long holiday weekend. Things might look a little different this year, but we are sure you can still make the most of it while staying safe. North Central New Jersey is chock-full of events and happenings, and here are some things of our favorites.

Take the Kids Out

Before enjoying the glorious Thanksgiving feast that you've prepared, take your kids out for a breath of fresh air, and simply enjoy the day! Spend the day outdoors, at a park, or even just in the backyard. If you decide to go after dinner, bring along some hot chocolate and cookies for storytelling time with the kids. If your kids like to explore the great wonders of nature, Somerset County Park features the Green Team Program. This program lets teens satisfy their curiosity about the great outdoors virtually at the Environmental Education Center.

Get Healthy

After the Thanksgiving feast, instead of wearing the stretchy pants all weekend, burn off a little of the calories gained with some yoga. Friday Afternoon Yoga, a virtual yoga event brought by Yoga Central, helps you learn breathing techniques and good stretching to help relieve stress and have a worry-free week ahead.

Get A Head Start for The Christmas Holidays

The long Thanksgiving weekend is the perfect opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit! Celebrate the upcoming holidays with soaring vocal harmonies, precision instrumentation, and a touch of Christmas magic that's great for the whole family at the Cook’s Christmas Lights.

Unwind

No weekend is complete without having some alone time and allowing yourself to de-stress. Some of our favorite activities include listening to some good music or your favorite playlist while sipping your favorite drink. You can also start a gratitude journal and write down all the things that you are grateful for each and every day. Having a gratitude journal allows you to gain a new perspective of what is important to you and what you truly appreciate in your life. It can help you lower stress levels and bring clarity on what you want to have more of in your life, and what you can cut out.

However you prefer to spend Thanksgiving, we hope you have fun. From all of us here at the Weiniger Realty, a BIG THANK YOU and Happy Thanksgiving!
